PROGRAM ENROLLMENT PROCESS

The Manufacturing Academy offers a 17-week accelerated training program designed for individuals with no prior experience who wish to begin a career in advanced manufacturing. As a pre-employment program, its goal is to provide participants with a strong foundation in technical skills and workplace competencies that align with industry standards.
Upon completing the program, graduates receive the following certifications:
The program features hands-on machine training, classroom instruction, and personal development services. The curriculum includes topics such as technical math, machine theory, blueprint reading, quality control, shop safety, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
Participants are connected with potential employers and receive career coaching, job placement assistance, and other support to overcome employment barriers. Additionally, the program includes modules on professional development, interpersonal skills, and resume optimization.
Since its inception in 2014, the Manufacturing Academy has successfully served over 300 participants across 17 cohorts, achieving a 90% job placement rate.

All cohorts run Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
AMI-SD is a recognized Registered Apprenticeship Program Sponsor by the U.S. Department of Labor (Program #2025-CA-133259).
Launched in 2025, this competency-based program is designed for apprentices who want to advance their careers as professional CNC Machine Operators (O*Net Code: 51-4035) or Quality Control Inspectors (O*Net Code: 51-9061).
The program takes apprentices from low-skilled, entry-level positions to full occupational proficiency within 1 to 2 years. Each apprentice is sponsored by an employer and paid on a progressive wage scale, starting between $22 and $28 per hour.
Upon completion, apprentices receive a “Completion of Registered Apprenticeship” certificate, which is a nationally recognized industry credential.

In-house training includes Safety, Math Concepts, Blueprint Reading, and Machining Fundamentals.
The program spans 1 to 2 years, requiring 40 hours of work per week for 104 weeks.
