OUR IMPACT
WHY THIS MATTERS
Advanced manufacturing is a vital part of the economy and of national security, but it is facing a significant manufacturing skills gap. By 2033, nearly 1.9 million manufacturing roles could go unfilled if the workforce is not equipped with the necessary technical skills. Immediate intervention is essential to prevent further deterioration over the next decade, which could endanger the national security supply chain and harm our economy.
DID YOU KNOW?
The sector provides 115,000 jobs in the San Diego region, and 8% of all advanced manufacturing jobs in California.
We help address two critical issues in San Diego County:
- The skilled labor shortage that exists in the region's vital advanced manufacturing sector
- Improving equitable access (for all) to the high-paying, middle-skill precision-machine occupations that are in demand and readily available in the regions.
ANNUAL REACH
- We serve 40+ individuals and administer 2-3 cohorts annually.
- Since our inception in 2014, we have served more than 300 individuals over 17 cohorts, with a 90% job placement rate for our program graduates.
