AMI-SD is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping build a skilled and diverse talent pipeline that serves the region’s vital advanced manufacturing sector and strengthens the broader community.
AMI-SD carries out its mission by providing no-cost, tuition-free integrated job training and placement programs, technical skill development, and support services to individuals with no prior experience. Designed to address the region’s growing demand for middle-skill advanced manufacturing talent by transitioning unemployed, underemployed, and low-wage workers to quality jobs as entry-level Machinists, CNC Machine Operators, Quality Control Inspectors, and Assemblers and Fabricators.
Since its inception in 2014, AMI-SD has provided direct training to over 15 cohorts, with more than 150 enrolled participants and an 85% job placement rate for program graduates.
AMI-SD partners with a variety of organizations, as well as public and private agencies, to better serve a diverse range of individuals seeking advanced manufacturing job training and employment. AMI-SD offers a wide range of leveraged resources to maximize support for program participants. AMI-SD recruitment efforts aim to ensure equitable access to career pathways in advanced manufacturing for all.
