Advanced Manufacturing Institute San Diego (AMI-SD) is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the region's advanced manufacturing and defense industries by building a skilled workforce and helping employers develop a sustainable talent pipeline. Using real-world industry knowledge and hands-on learning methods, we offer vocational training, skills development, and job placement assistance to San Diego County residents to launch careers in advanced manufacturing. In as little as 17 weeks, we prepare individuals to become productive and employment-ready for entry-level Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machine Programming roles, such as CNC Machine Operators, Quality Control Inspectors, and other related jobs that involve operating machinery, reading blueprints, programming, and using precision tools.
Our programs and services are ideal for people who are:
- unemployed, underemployed, or career-shifting individuals;
- actively seeking entry-level and mid-level precision-machining roles within the advanced manufacturing sector; and
- prefer accelerated, hands-on, real-world, direct training in a positive, professional, and supportive environment
