Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Development
The Advanced Manufacturing Institute San Diego (AMI-SD) was established in 2014 as a 501-(c)3 non-profit organization to address the critical shortage of skilled workers in manufacturing, understanding the importance of supporting the local manufacturing sector and quickly training the workers needed to fill these good-paying jobs.
We provide no-cost, tuition-free relevant education and technical skills training workforce development programs - the Manufacturing Academy and the Registered Apprenticeship - focused on helping participants secure employment with local companies.
Our holistic approach and hands-on training model ensure participants’ success and promote innovation within our communities by linking untapped talent with meaningful opportunities.
We support industry and help bridge the skills gap represented by over 800,000 unfilled manufacturing jobs in America today, while providing participants with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
