AMI-SD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2014 dedicated to building a skilled talent pipeline that meets industry demands and strengthens the broader community.
AMI-SD provides no-cost, tuition-free advanced manufacturing training, job placement and support services to unemployed and underemployed adults, workforce bound students, veterans, and others seeking to jumpstart their career in the sector by educating, training and connecting them with the skills, credentials, and competencies necessary to access high-wage, in-demand jobs within the career pathway.
AMI-SD's workforce efforts benefit both industry and the community at large by helping address two critical workforce issues : (1) unemployment, and (2) talent pipeline development of skilled and diverse workers for the region's manufacturers
We partner with workforce, education and community organizations, as well as public and private agencies, to better serve people a diverse range of people seeking advanced training and employment, and offer a wide variety of leveraged resources to maximize support for our program participants. Our recruitment efforts aim to ensure equitable access to career pathways in advanced manufacturing for all, especially unemployed and underemployed adults, workforce-bound youth, and veterans.
